Introduction

In this article, I will be guiding/teaching you the steps on how to apply for admission in NOUN (National Open University of Nigeria)

The National Open University of Nigeria has proven to be one of the best Institutions in Nigeria.

They offer full part-time programs on all courses, making it easier for students to work and learn at the same time.

Because NOUN classes are held every Friday and Saturday, making it convenience for workers and business owners to attend classes.

Therefore, I won’t be wrong to say that NOUN is solely for students who are working or who have businesses to operate and still want to go to school.

NOUN offers Admission to Undergraduate and Postgraduate.

So with all things being said, find below the steps on how to apply for Admission in NOUN.

This guides are for PC Users but if you want to use your phone, then you have to change your Chrome to Desktop View.

Requirements

  1. National Identity Number (NIN)
  2. Scanned Passport
  3. O-Level Result(s)

For Post Graduates and PhD

  • Higher Institution Certificate

NOUN Faculties

NOUN University has eight (8) faculties which are,

  1. Agriculture
  2. Arts
  3. Education
  4. Health Science
  5. Law
  6. Management Science
  7. Science
  8. Social Science

Guide 1: Applying for Admission

  1. The first step is to visit NOUN official site https://www.nouonline.net/
  2. Click on Admission
  3. Then, click on Apply
  4. Select the Admission program (Undergraduate, Postgraduate, or PhD program).
  5. Then scroll down to choose Faculty of your choice

Guide 2: Choosing your Faculty

You have to choose a faculty in other for it to display a program.

  1. Select the faulty of your choice
  2. The program for the faculty you selected will be displayed.
  3. Then, choose the one you want to apply for.

Guide 3: Select either Level 100 or Level 200

A section where you are to choose either Level 100 or Level 200 will be displayed.

For undergraduates; after choosing a level, the compulsory O-Level Requirement (subject) will be displayed, (which means you must have written the subject in your O-Level Result and also score C6 and above on those required subjects).

  1. Select your level
  2. Click on Submit
  3. A list of Compulsory O-Level Subject will display for that particular program
  4. Finally, click on Apply

Guide 4: the next step is to fill your Bio-Data

This is where you fill details/information concerning you e.g, Surname, Other names (First Name and Middle Name), Date of Birth, Gender, Marital Status, address, National Identity Number, etc

  1. Fill your information correctly
  2. Copy the Captcha number correctly and fill in the space provided
  3. Then, click on Apply
  4. Scroll down and click on Continue

Make sure to write down your Unique ID

Guide 5: the next is to proceed to payment

After you have clicked on Continue, NOUN will ask you to proceed to payment using Remita, it will show you a summary of your details.

Note that: The amount to be paid will be displayed on the portal, but as at when writing this content, it is ₦5000.

  1. Click on Pay on the NOUN portal (it will redirect you to Remita)
  2. On the Remita Portal Click on Submit

You can use your ATM Card for payment, but it is advisable to use Bank Branch for payment because you will present your Bank Teller in school.

  • Select Bank Branch and copy the RRR (Remita Retrieval Reference) Number that is displayed
  • Proceed to Bank and Make your payment.

Guide 6: continue registration after payment

After making your payment, then you will have to continue registration after payment.

  1. Just like in Guide 1 of this content
  2. Click on Admission and then Apply
  3. Click on Continue After Payment (don’t scroll down to Faculty)
  4. Fill in your RRR (Remita Retrieval Reference) number; Select your Program, and the level you choose.
  5. Then, click on Proceed.

Guide 7: Filling the Program Form (Undergraduate, Postgraduate or PhD)

This is where you will fill the program form, like your Next of Kin, O-Level Results, etc.

  1. Fill in the correct details
  2. (optional) Click preview to see a preview of your form or Printing
  3. Click on submit.

A message like in the image below will display, showing your application successful and a link to print your Admission Letter.

  1. Like in Guide 1 of this content
  2. Click on Admission and then Apply
  3. Click on Reprints  (don’t scroll down to Faculty)
  4. Fill in your RRR (Remita Retrieval Reference) number
  5. Select the service you need either to Print Application form or Admission Letter
  6. Then, click on submit
  7. Finally, click on proceed to continue.
