Mpape community is one-bank-short as Ecobank relocates from the Mpape Community.
Ecobank branch in Mpape has put a notice outside their bank branch in the Mpape community notifying their customers that they have relocated to Asokoro Branch.
The notice includes the exact address in Asokoro and also states that it is done to serve its customers better.
The message states as follows.
from 1st July 2020, this branch relocates to:
Ecobank Yakubu Gowon Branch, Plot 157, Yakubu Gowon Way, Asokoro
We regret any inconvenience, as we aim to serve you better.”
All activities like bank transactions have fully been stopped in the Mpape branch but the ATM Machines are still dispensing cash, it will still dispense cash till they move machines.
This notice that came so sudden to Mpape has without doubt caused displeasure to be seen on customer’s faces.
Without doubts, people were not pleased because they could not carry out they suppose bank transactions.
While some when homes some had to spend transport fare which they didn’t budget to do bank transactions in neighboring branches like Maitama, Wuse, etc.
Securities could still be seen guiding the former building which means they haven’t relocated most of their heavy equipment.
Speaking to a residence which also can be identified as a customer of Ecobank, he points out his views saying that he was going to use another bank because he can’t spend money to neighboring town branch just to do his business transactions.
Though people who use this bank as a personal account have no choice but to locate them in Asokoro when needed.
We hope for the benefit of the community a new bank branch should be open because it seems FCMB is trying to create a branch at Plot 4, Oceanic Road, of the same road since their signboard and FCMB security officers could be seen in the said plot.
